Good design opens doors.

I'm Sarah Hogan, the designer behind Happy Hour Studio — an independent graphic design studio for museums, galleries, arts organisations, charities and small businesses. For over ten years I've made bold work with a lot of heart, for people doing things worth caring about. Whether it's a brand, a report or a campaign, I make the kind of work that's impossible to scroll past.

Everyone welcome, exactly as they are.

I believe people are at their best when they feel welcome. Waved in, handed a cup of something yummy and left to settle in.

A lot of the world isn't built for minds like mine. I'm dyslexic, so I think in visual ideas and feelings first — which gives me a strong instinct for storytelling, and a sharp eye for the moment a design stops feeling accessible. I've spent years spotting exactly where groups of people can get left behind. Design is never neutral: it either opens a door or guards it. So now I design to open them. Work that helps people feel like they belong, exactly as they are. That's the whole point of Happy Hour: design that makes more of the world feel like it was for them.
